In order to be sponsored for a Canada PR Visa, you must have family living in Canada. “Family Reunification” is one of the pillars of Canadian immigration.
Using Family Class Sponsorship:
Your relatives can become permanent residents of Canada.
If you are:
✅At least 18 years old
✅A Canadian citizen
✅A permanent resident of Canada
✅Canadian Indian under the Canadian Indian Act
You can sponsor them.
What is the process of family sponsorship in Canada?
If you are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, aged 18 or over, you can sponsor certain members of your family to become permanent residents of Canada. In order to become a Canadian permanent resident, you must be financially able to support your relative upon arrival. If you sponsor a relative to come to Canada as a permanent resident, you must provide financial support.
How do family sponsorship programs benefit families?
Canada family sponsorship programs offer the following benefits:
✅Sponsored family members do not need to meet any points cut-offs.
✅Those who obtain a PR Visa through a family sponsorship program are eligible to live, work, or study in Canada.
✅Government-funded healthcare, free education up to 18 years of age, Canada Pension Plan benefits, and Old Age Security.
✅A parent living in Canada on a dependent visa as a permanent resident can apply for Canadian citizenship after three years.
In addition to the family immigration program, there are many other immigration programs in Canada, including the Express Entry program, the Provincial Nominee Program, etc. Through frequently held express entry draws, IRCC issues ITAs to candidates seeking a Canada PR Visa.
How can I become a Sponsor?
The Canadian citizen or permanent resident must meet the following requirements to be a sponsor:
✅In the sponsorship agreement, the sponsor commits to providing financial support to the sponsor’s parents, if necessary. The agreement also stipulates that the parent of the person who becomes a permanent resident will make every effort to support him or her
✅Support a spouse, common-law partner, or conjugal partner for three years after they become permanent residents
✅Until the child turns 25, provide financial support to a dependent child
